Eric Kinaga
Executive Director
Eric Kinaga works at the intersection of politics, public finance, and civic life, with over a decade spent helping government, civil society, and development partners build public systems that are not just effective, but worth believing in. As a public sector and governance specialist, he has worked on public debt, fiscal justice, and institutional accountability across Kenya and East Africa, helping to drive national advocacy on public debt and fiscal governance. Eric brings a rare blend of technical depth and civic imagination to his work. He also writes Letters to a Kinder Nation, a biweekly newsletter exploring governance, public imagination, and the everyday choices through which societies shape their future. He believes that institutions, just like people, grow strongest when accountability and care are held together. He brings this conviction to Baraza and looks forward to learning from and building alongside the team and its wider community, strengthening the Lab as a home for African media, creativity, experimentation, and public-interest storytelling.
